This quick-release replacement watch strap can be converted to an Apple watch band by putting connectors on it.
Edges of this Black Pebbled Leather Watch Strap are hand painted to give a smooth feel and formal look.

Preserve Your Legacy. Full-grain leather is a natural material that thrives with a little attention. To ensure your TASCONY piece lasts a lifetime:

  • Avoid Heat: Keep away from direct sunlight or heaters for extended periods to prevent drying.
  • Natural Cleaning: Never use alcohol, turpentine, or mineral spirits. If soiled, wipe gently with a damp, soft cloth.
  • Moisture Control: If your wallet gets wet, pat it dry immediately and let it air-dry naturally. Never use an electric dryer.
  • The Golden Rule: The natural oils from your hands will keep the leather supple, but an annual application of a high-quality leather balm will enhance the patina.

What is the difference between full-grain and top-grain leather watch straps?

Full-grain uses the outermost hide layer with the natural grain intact — the strongest grade, most breathable, and the one that develops the richest patina over time. Top-grain is sanded and finished for a more uniform surface — still premium, slightly more scratch-resistant on the surface, and more consistent in appearance. Both are excellent. Neither should be confused with genuine leather', the third grade, which is heavily processed and does not develop patina.

Can I get my leather watch strap personalised or engraved?

Yes — all TASCONY leather straps can be personalised with engraving . Initials, a name, a date, or a short message. Select your strap and add engraving details at checkout. This makes our leather straps a popular choice for anniversaries, birthdays, Father Day, and groomsmen sets. Contact us for custom requests before ordering.

How long does a leather watch strap last?

A premium full-grain or top-grain strap, properly conditioned and rotated, can last four to five years of daily wear. The key practices are conditioning every four to six weeks, keeping the strap dry, and rotating between at least two straps so the leather recovers between wears. The most common cause of early failure is dryness from sweat and heat without conditioning — not the leather quality itself.

Are leather watch straps suitable for daily wear in hot Australian conditions?

Yes, with appropriate care. Leather handles dry heat well but is vulnerable to prolonged sweat exposure and humidity. In summer, condition more frequently, wipe away sweat after active days, and rotate straps regularly. For swimming, exercise, or extended outdoor activities, a rubber strap is the more practical choice — swap back to leather for the office and social occasions.

Which leather texture is best for a dress watch?

Crocodile texture is the most formal — its raised tile pattern pairs directly with dress watches, gold-tone hardware, and formal occasions. Epsom is the most versatile, working across both formal and smart casual. Pebble is the most relaxed, best for field watches, bronze cases, and weekend wear. When in doubt, dark brown epsom is the combination that works across the widest range of watches.

How do I care for a leather watch strap?

The three core rules: keep it dry, condition regularly, rotate between straps. If the strap gets wet, wipe immediately and air dry naturally — never use direct heat. Apply leather conditioner every four to six weeks. For a complete cleaning and maintenance routine, see our Leather Watch Straps Care Guide.

What size leather strap do I need?

Measure the gap between your watch lugs with a ruler — this is your lug width and the strap size to order. Most watches use 18mm, 20mm, or 22mm. 20mm is the most common, fitting Omega Speedmaster, Rolex Submariner, Seiko SKX, Hamilton Khaki, and Tissot PRX among many others. If between sizes, size down — a 20mm strap fits a 21mm lug cleanly. Contact us with your watch model if unsure.

Which leather strap is best for a Rolex or Omega?

For luxury brands, we recommend our Tapered Italian Leather range. The thinning profile toward the buckle matches the original luxury aesthetic while providing a comfortable, modern fit.
